Wendy Smit Interiors is a boutique residential design studio serving the greater Nashville area and beyond. Our work is rooted in warm, layered transitional design — blending timeless architectural character, rich materials, thoughtful detailing, and modern livability to create one-of-a-kind homes for busy families.

Available Positions
Jr. Interior Designer — Part Time (20-30 hours/week)
The Junior Interior Designer will support the Principal Designer across all phases of the design process — from concept development and CAD drawings to sourcing, presentations, and client meetings.
This is an ideal role for someone who:

Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings (floor plans, elevations, cabinetry details, etc.)
Assist in space planning and furniture layouts
Create and revise technical drawing sets for contractors and millworkers
Ensure drawings are accurate, dimensioned, and build-ready
Sourcing & Selections
Research and source furnishings, lighting, plumbing, tile, hardware, and finishes
Track pricing, lead times, and specifications
Assist in material board creation and design presentations
Maintain organized digital and physical sample libraries
Presentations & Client Support
Prepare client-facing presentations using Canva and Google Suite
Support client meetings and take detailed notes
Follow up on action items and revisions
Assist during installations and styling days
Administrative & Process Support
Maintain organization in Google Drive and project folders
Update project tracking in Design Files (preferred but not required)
Assist with procurement documentation and order tracking
Anticipate upcoming needs based on project timelines
Required Qualifications
Proficient in AutoCAD (or similar drafting platform)
Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
Proficient in Canva
Strong technical drawing and space planning skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with proactive mindset
Must reside in the Greater Nashville area
Must have reliable transportation for studio and site visits
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Design Files
Residential design firm experience
Familiarity with procurement processes
Understanding of construction documentation and millwork detailing
Knowledge of vendor accounts and trade-only resources
Work Structure
20–30 hours per week
Hybrid schedule (in-office and remote)
Studio located in Nolensville, TN

Part-Time PR, Marketing & Social Media Coordinator — Part Time (5-10 hours/week)
This is a part-time (5–10 hours/week) hybrid role ideal for someone who is passionate about interiors, and excited to be hands-on with content creation, brand messaging, and PR. You’ll work directly with the owner/principal designer and often join us on client installs, site visits, team meetings once per week, and styled photo shoots to capture fresh photo/video content.
The right candidate is a true self-starter: if given direction, you can run with it. You enjoy taking initiative, problem-solving, and transforming loose ideas into polished deliverables. You’re comfortable learning our established brand voice and can write confidently and consistently on behalf of our studio. Based on the candidates qualifications, the role is open to expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
Plan, draft, and schedule Instagram content (reels, carousels, stories) in the WSI brand voice.
Capture behind-the-scenes photo and video content during installs, site visits & design days.
Assist in curating photos, selecting assets, and uploading content from recent projects.
Track engagement trends and recommend new ideas for optimized growth.
PR & Communications
Draft and pitch stories to local and national home/design media outlets.
Assist with award submissions, editorial pitches, and publication tracking.
Maintain press materials, bios, project descriptions, and portfolio updates
Email Marketing & Blog
Write, edit, and publish monthly email newsletters.
Draft blog posts on recent projects, design tips, and behind-the-scenes stories.
Manage the content calendar and help develop ongoing series or recurring themes.
General Marketing & Support
Assist with organizing and documenting project photography.
Maintain brand consistency across all platforms.
Take initiative on new marketing ideas, partnerships, and collaborations.
Ideal Candidate
Must be local to Nashville, TN and available to join our team on-site as needed.
1–3+ years of experience in PR, social media, or digital marketing (interior design experience a plus).
Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; able to capture a luxury-but-approachable brand voice.
Strong understanding of Instagram trends, reel creation, and visual storytelling.
Proactive, independent, organized, and solutions-oriented.
Comfortable working with minimal direction and taking full ownership of tasks.
Skilled in Canva, Adobe Express, or similar content tools.
Experience using Squarespace for website updates, blog posts, and general site edits.
Enjoys being part of a small, creative, and fast-moving team.
